Location : The Trout Lake Abbey, Trout Lake, WA

Our art and mindful movement summer camp creatively integrates environmental culture, movement, mindful awareness, and art to inspire connection to our natural world. Our imaginations will take us on a journey of discovering how the Elements, plants and animals connect deeply with us as personal guides. Through exploring techniques of physical movement, observation, self-reflection, and community, we focus on cultivating children’s innate curiosity and appreciation of the natural world around them -. honoring the web of life that connects all beings.

Campers need to bring a lunch, water, and snack each day. Dress for the outside elements - sun protection is advised.

$50 Cancellation Fee will be held if registration is cancelled within 2 weeks of camp.

Everything is alive with spirit - the season, the plants, the earth, the sky, and the animals.

In each camp we will explore and create from nature while building social and creative skills. The Trout Lake Abbey offers a setting that brings the elements to life - allowing our campers to explore, create, and inspire in a natural setting. Each camp will include projects using a variety of mediums. We will also cultivate a connection to nature through mindful practices, movement, games, and place bonding.

Taught by Molly Holmlund and Stephenie Going

My daughter participated in Stephenie and Molly’s camp last summer. She loved it and our whole family benefited from it! We felt so lucky to have her spend the days with such special women in such a beautiful place. She loved the art, the exploring, and teaching us how to eat our dinner mindfully!

About the teachers…

Molly is an artist fascinated by the process of hand making inks. Her work reveals a closer look into the multiple connections in nature, through extracting and applying color from plants and minerals.

The use of natural materials creates a unique alchemy in the inks, allowing a different way of mixing and layering than traditional paints. This brings a sense of collaborating with the material, all while letting nature speak for itself.
